The objective of the Congress has been to lead and shape new tourism models for the 21st century based on innovation, technology, sustainability, governance and accessibility, components of the Smart Tourist Destinations.
In this #SDWC2018 Smart Talk, destinations. researchers, entrepreneurs and other tourism stakeholders discuss how new technologies can be exploited to support the entire tourism ecosystem in its transition from a linear to a more circular production and consumption model, fostering restoration, regeneration and re-use. This includes reflections about the potential of tourism as catalyst for change due to its vast interlinkages with other sectors while also considering the explicit challenges in the sector due to the complexity of its service-centered value chain.
